the five mile grace – a matthew miller photography joint bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

It started and ended very quickly. I took a photography course my junior year at North Gwinnett High school. 2 weeks later I was kicked out, and thats what I thought would the end of my interest of photography. Anyhow, many years later I found myself embarking on my first tour out of the country to Europe with my band ,Most Precious Blood, and for the trip, my mother bought me my first digital camera.I wanted to document every part of the journey(little did i know that i would tour europe a total of five times in the coming years).

Its been almost 6 years since that tour. I have traveled all over the US more times than I can remember.I've been overseas to Brazil, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, and all over Europe. Now I've dropped anchor after living in Brooklyn NY and doing the band full time, I bought a house with my lovely lady(and amazing tattooer) Danielle. We have two midget vegan pitbull puppies named Trainwreck and Justice. We just bought a beautiful home in East Atlanta Georgia. Life is really looking good these days.

I created this blog to show the kind of Photography that I have been doing recently, and also to have a platform to show what is going on in my life. I am available for hire when im not working with the best damn wedding photographers in Atlanta at OUR LABOR OF LOVE. Please get in touch or leave me a comment if you like what you see, or you want to set up a shoot.

i want your skull…..

so my long time homeboy and soon to be groomsman mr. kenn24 is quite a creative dude. he runs a screen printing company here in atlanta called wearwolf press who prints shirts for bands like cartel , de la soul , and even vice magazine. he also is a bad ass designer who has made t shirt designs for acts such as metallica , black lips and most precious blood. id say that kenn has a huge impact on me pulling my shit together to become a full time photographer. hes a forward thinking guy and is highly motivated. he definitely made me get off my ass and make something of my creative side. Kenn’s new venture is a combination of graphic design , screen printing , hand painting , and wood cutting. he had me come over last week and shoot the process of what it takes for him to make his new jumbo skulls. check out theother cool stuff that he makes and sell up on his ETSY page.

no go and buy his stuff!
and tell him matt sent ya!

jill & tony are havin a baby!!!!

tony & jill & i have been homies since high school. i could write for hours about all the crazy stuff we have done in the years that we have known each other. ill save you the details but just know that we have been through a lot and remain super close until this day. i was honored when tony asked me to be one of his groomsmen for his wedding to jill over 5 years ago. and now for the birth of their first child, i was so taken back when jill & tony asked me to be the one to capture this time for them in photos. it gets emotional when you think that when their kid is 20 something and his parents break out the shoebox (iphoto?) of old pictures of when “mom and dad were cool” and they come across these images that i took for them, he will smile and think that, man, these ARE some cool people… and wow, thats me inside there… i can only hope that they look back on these and think that they made the right choice in having me be responsible for those memories…. ok enough of that. heres the photos. enjoy!

hugo & jenn sneak peek!

i cant wait to post this whole wedding. im listening to nothing but chromeo for the next 2 weeks so i can bust some ass and get these edited asap because this wedding was THAT amazing. kilts, vegan cake, bagpipes, NYHC tattoos, serious dance party madness, bride and groom custom bobble heads, high fives, and a room busting at the seams with love. stay tuned for more photos soon…….
